The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation wants to help you make your charitable giving extra meaningful. We offer the following opportunities for you and your family to get the most out of your giving.
Connect with your charitable peers in a small group setting to gain knowledge, confidence and momentum in your giving. Whether you are new to philanthropy or are a long-time donor, Donor-to-Donor will help you gain knowledge, confidence and momentum in your philanthropy, and meet others who might inspire or mentor you along the way.
Camp Charity is a unique experiential learning environment designed to teach children about charitable giving. This three-hour camp is open to children ages 8 through 13 and their parents or grandparents. The session typically takes place on a Saturday and includes a volunteer activity, inspiring stories told by teens who give back and tools for evaluating nonprofit organizations. At the end of the session, participants make a commitment to give their time, talent or treasure to help someone in need.
Family Giving Getaway
Family Giving Getaway is a hands-on giving experience for the entire family. The Getaway, typically scheduled on a Saturday, includes a behind-the-scenes peek at a local nonprofit organization along with a fun volunteer project.
Giving U helps adults explore the best practices in charitable giving. Giving U participants have access to the best and brightest minds in philanthropy as they develop their own goals and strategies for giving. Participants discover how to make larger impacts and have more fun with their giving, along with learning practical tips, including how to analyze nonprofit organizations or work with other donors to leverage their giving.
ReBoot Camp is designed for people who have reached a time in their lives when they want to increase their giving, but they may not know the opportunities that are available. Whether it’s giving time, talent or treasure, the program helps participants align their personal skills and unique interests with activities that make a meaningful difference in our community.
Programs Just for You
In addition to the opportunities listed here, the Community Foundation offers private, custom educational programs for Community Foundation donors. Our team can facilitate a meeting to help your family establish a charitable giving roadmap to guide your future giving, or we can offer assistance planning philanthropic activities based on your charitable interests.
If you would like to attend any upcoming events, or if you’re interested in a custom program for your family or friends, please contact Sidney Peterson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 816.627.3414.
