Helping hands for Haiti . . . at your fingertips
According to an old Swedish proverb, the best place to find a helping hand is at the end of your own arm. American Century Investments certainly wasted no time! Within hours of the earthquake in Haiti, the company formed the American Century Investments Disaster Relief Fund so that employees could make contributions online at the click of a button. And to top it off, the American Century Investments Foundation committed to match all employee contributions to the fund.
“At American Century Investments we respond to help those in need,” said Jonathan Thomas, President and CEO of American Century. "We were able to quickly establish a direct link for employees to contribute to Haiti relief efforts, and have the American Century Investments Foundation match their donations."
The Haiti relief fund is just one of many ways American Century Investments demonstrates again and again that it has a leg up when it comes to corporate social responsibility and charitable giving by supporting the causes that employees care about. For example, through its Mutual Friends program, American Century Investments offers an easy way for employees to give the gift of time to causes like Harvesters, featured in the photo here.
The Greater Horizons team joins the entire community in applauding the commitment of American Century Investments. Let’s all give this company a hand!
