Giving: It's in the Mail

Charitable giving in the mailEarlier this week, we received a large delivery from the post office. Inside the box were countless gifts from generous donors to their charitable giving accounts, also known as donor-advised funds. In return, we gave the mail carrier dozens of envelopes filled with grants to nonprofits in Kansas City and beyond.

Charitable giving accounts at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation help donors organize and maximize their giving. Many donors choose to send checks to our office, but donors can also contribute to their fund a with credit or debit card, or visit our office in downtown Kansas City.

With charitable giving accounts, donors can customize their accounts to meet their needs. Are you giving as an individual, family or as a company? Do you want to name younger generations as future advisors and create a legacy of philanthropy? Perhaps setting up a charitable giving account is just right for you.

If our mail is any indication of what the rest of the year will look like, we are confident that our donors are changing the world, one gift and grant at a time.
