Community Foundation Staff Becomes Visit KC VIP Certified

Staff members at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation were recently certified to be official representatives for Kansas City through Visit KC’s Visitor Influencer Program (VIP). Visit KC is an organization dedicated to increasing tourism to our hometown and marketing Kansas City as a travel destination for adventurers across the country and around the world.

An unofficial requirement to work for the Community Foundation is to hold your own passion for our city, so it is fitting that we have the city’s stamp of approval and knowledge to make us experts. As Visit KC says, “Loving Kansas City is the first step to becoming a Visit KC VIP.”

Every day at the Community Foundation, we are lucky to see donors make an impact in Kansas City and beyond. Behind the scenes, we see the ins and outs of what makes Kansas City great because of our donors’ philanthropic dollars.

Donor Relations Specialist Brian Motl says his certification will help him serve our donors even better than he already does. “Exploring several of Visit KC’s stops on their recommended itinerary, it’s exciting to see the connection between nonprofits and donors who support them.”

Pat Macdonald, senior philanthropic advisor and executive director of the Black Community Fund serves on the board of directors at Visit KC. Pat believes the VIP program is a perfect opportunity to ensure we can provide expertise in a broad range of areas to meet our donors’ standards.
