Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund Grantees
The Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund has provided more than $17 million to hundreds of organizations across the Kansas City region. The first five rounds of grants focused on the following:
- Housing (rent, mortgage, utilities)
- Food insecurity
- Access to health care
- Access to childcare
- Other critical human services
Details on the initial five rounds and additional, targeted grants are available below. The Fund's current focus is supporting broad, collaborative partnerships that leverage other public and private funds and address critical COVID-19 response and recovery needs.
Nonprofit organizations are realizing ongoing and additional deficits as the region faces each new phase of the crisis, and donations are still needed. We encourage you to learn more about the Fund's grantees and make direct donations.

Seven organizations were awarded grants totaling $750,000 to address a significant increase in the level of violence perpetrated during the pandemic, the reduction in available beds due to CDC guidelines, and the innovative use of hotels and rental space to meet the increase in safety needs.

The funds will be used to support out of school services for students in Wyandotte and Johnson counties.
The Advisory Board for the Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund conducted a review of its initial grants. When the first and second rounds of grants were issued, the Board took a more conservative approach, as the total amount of available funds was still unknown at that time. On August 20, the Fund issued the following level-up grants in order to bring parity to funding levels.
This round provides an additional $542,000 to 28 organizations.

Avenue of Life is the backbone organization for Impact KCK, focusing on providing stable housing for at-risk children. They provide food and emergency assistance to families in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
