CBM Wildcat Education Scholarship Fund

The CBM Wildcat Education Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Cheryl Barnett McLaughlin, a retired teacher and graduate of Kansas State University. The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from the Shawnee Mission School District, or graduates of the Shawnee Mission School District, who wish to become teachers and who plan to attend or are attending Kansas State University to pursue a degree in Education.

Eligibility:
The students eligible for assistance shall meet the following:
  • Be graduating seniors from the Shawnee Mission School District, or graduates of the Shawnee Mission School District;
  • Be planning to attend or attending Kansas State University to pursue a degree in Education; (iii) demonstrate financial need;
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; and
  • Have extracurricular or other community involvement experience.

These scholarships will be supplemental for students who have already earned academic scholarships. Students must submit a scholarship application on a form provided by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.

The scholarship is not automatically renewable but students may re-apply annually.

Amount: Minimum of $500 annually
